Business and related careers like finance, accounting, and management are among the most popular fields of study at universities. Business graduates are diverse, in high demand worldwide, and are often highly paid.

Teaching and education-related careers such as counselors, social workers, school psychologists, etc. are projected to have steady to high job growth. Those dedicated to teaching and impacting the next generation will likely have many job prospects available to them.

Through the entrepreneurship pathways, students learn to prepare to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and process of various organizations. Management, decision making, and marketing skills are among the many that are needed to succeed in these careers.

Career Pathways

Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, & Recreation

This pathway prepares students to provide services in the hospitality and leisure fields. It includes instruction in hospitality operations; customer sales; marketing techniques; assistance operations and techniques; basic office management; sports, recreation and equipment management; and food and beverage services.

Sample careers: Restaurant/Hotel Manager, Chef, Customer Service Agent, Bed and Breakfast Proprietor, Caterer, Concierge, Event Planner, Recreation Director, Sales Representative, Tour Guide, Travel Agent

Financial Services

This pathway prepares you to perform a wide variety of customer services in banks, insurance agencies, savings and loan companies, and related enterprises. It includes classes in communications and public relations skills, business equipment operation, and relevant technical skills.

Sample careers: Accountant, Account Manager, Bank Teller, Entrepreneur, Investment Advisor, Investment Banker, Loan Officer, Mortgage Broker, Sales Representative

Management & Entrepreneurship

This pathway generally prepares you to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and processes of a firm or organization. It includes instruction in management theory, human resources management and behavior, accounting and other quantitative methods, purchasing and logistics, organization and production, marketing, and business decision-making.

Sample careers: Business Manager/Owner, Entrepreneur, Event Planner, Insurance Agent, Property Manager, Marketing, Marketing Research Analyst

Career & Technical Student Organizations

CTSOs are a great way for students to get involved and to develop their leadership skills. The CTSOs for the BEE Academy are FBLA, FCCLA, & Educators Rising.

eOS

TCHS has an employability growth platform called eOS. Assisting our students in becoming college and career ready is important to us and is part of our mission. Teachers monitor students on the following three criteria: responsibility/dependability, appropriate use of technology, and communication. These scores help students set individual goals for improving their employability in the community, as well as for rewards within their classroom and the Academy. Eos also provides students with an opportunity to learn, self-assess, and improve 21st century skills.
