Bowling Team Picture

Bowling is a Winter coed sport where we compete against 16 other high school teams in Region 7 of Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA).  We have a girls and boys team and we also allow 7th and 8th graders to join our team from TC Middle and Southern Middle.  No prior bowling experience required.  Our season starts in October and ends in early February.  We practice at Southland Lanes Collins Bowling Center (normally on Wednesday and Friday after school) from 4 pm to 6 pm (except holidays), 205 Southland Drive.  We have a great time while learning our sport.

The girls team won 2nd Place in our Official KHSAA Region 7 Bowling Tournament in 2024 and 1st place in 2023 and went on to compete in KHSAA State Finals both yearsIn other 2023-24 Tournaments: boys team won 3 – 2nd place trophies and girls team won 3 – 1st place, 3 – 2nd place, and 1 – 3rd place trophiesIn singles Region 7 Tournament: Kaci Sapp finished in 3rd Place overall with a high game of 247 and also went to KHSAA State Finals for singles and finished in 6th Place overall with a high game of 195.  Two girls made the 2024 ALL REGION TEAM:  Kaci Sapp ranked # 5 “All Tournament Team” and Jaydyn Hunting (third entry). Maddox Sapp finished in 6th Place overall for boys with a high game of 246 and also made the 2024 ALL REGION TEAM.

2024 Region 7 Tournament Honorable Mention:  Jaydyn Hunting placed 10th Seed with 198 high game and Ethan Waters placed 13th Seed with 212 high game.

Team SHOUT OUTS   TCHS graduates:  Austin Hensley class of 2019, Isiah Gordon class of 2020, and Gabrielle Gill class of 2021 have all received a College Bowling Scholarships from Midway University.  Dylan Church class of 2023 from Campbellsville University – at Harrodsburg.  Kaci Sapp TCHS graduating class of 2024 from University of the Cumberlands.

Parents must log-in to Arbiter Registration and complete all fields of the online participant information which includes uploading the KHSAA physical for your athletes prior to first practice. Middle School athletes should also be sure to select the FCPS Middle School Participation approval question in the Add-on section.  Here are the required Physical forms, only the “Preparticipation Physical Evaluation” page with doctor’s signature must be loaded into Arbiter Registration.  If you have already registered for a Fall sport, you do not have to register again; just also select Bowling or let me know what sport so that I can have your info transferred to Bowling.

Parents are asked to pay $150 by first practice; this fee includes: $25 sports insurance, $50 athletic fee, $4 USBC Youth Sanction fee, and $70 bowling jersey (or team gear).  * Sport insurance fee is not required if paid in a Fall sport.  All checks will need to be made out to "Tates Creek Bowling Team".  Cash is also accepted.  Please contact me if you have questions about our team: wrensey.gill@fayette.kyschools.us

Remember practice at Southland Lanes Collins Bowling Center (205 Southland Drive) every Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 4 pm to 6 pm (except holidays or weather days), starting Oct 9, 2024.  Middle School student athletes are allowed to arrive late but as soon as able.  Please contact me on SportsYou if you are not able to attend scheduled events or times for any reason.
