Tates Creek High School has been officially authorized by the IBO to add the Career-related Programme. In order to earn the IB Career-related credential students will need to satisfy the following requirements:
Pre IB Career-related requirements for Freshmen and Sophomores
Complete a minimum of 2 years of advanced course sequences in 2 subject areas (e.g. Adv Geometry and Adv Algebra 2, Adv Physics/Earth Space and Adv Chemistry/Earth Space). This is to ensure students have prerequisite courses for at least 2 IB courses.
Complete a career-related pathway.
IB Career-related requirements for Juniors and Seniors:
Complete 2 IB courses and the required assessments within each course (one IB course must be a two-year course)
Score at least a 3 for 2 or more IB courses
Complete the Personal and Professional Skills course (PPS)
Complete a Reflective Project (including working with the teacher/mentor, submitting a plan and rough drafts, maintaining a school mandated time schedule, completing an essay and any other relevant components)
Participation and documentation of Community Engagement with the submission of a CE Journal
Participation and documentation of the Language and Cultural Studies component with the submission of a LCS Journal
